Waste Treatment
The old dumps
need to be cleared to reduce the methane and leachate still coming out of them
for years to come, to remove such dumps as towns and cities grow, and to clear
these spaces to ground level for re-use as waste-processing sites. The most
successful examples of clearing all existing dumps of untreated garbage by
‘Biomining’ , which can remove and usefully re-use up to 90% of the old dump.
